My NEW Ferrari… The Best Blender

The Best Blender

Yesterday I finally decided I needed to stop playing around with 100 dollar junk blenders and go to the proven investment for the best blender and most bang for my buck.

Now, I have gone through about 3 blenders in my lifetime and my latest one was the new Ninja Professional Blender. I have recommended this blender to a couple friends of mine, and for good reason. It has lasted at least over a year or more and has done everything I needed it to do and I was HARD on it. Trust me, it did well. And to be honest the motor is still as powerful as ever but the top gear stripped and I don’t feel like paying 20-30$ to get the part shipped just to have it do it again later down the road. But when you work in the kitchen as much as I do, thats what it takes to eat healthy and optimally, then investing in something that can do multiple things is very advantageous.

Enter into my NEW Vitamix

So no this isn’t a new Ferrari Enzo, but thats not really my thing anyway… I prefer Jeeps. But IT IS going to make processing, flour grinding, and post workout shakes a cinch for many, many years to come!

For those of you who don’t know what a Vitamix is, its a 2 Horse Power (1380 watt) blender that basically destroys and vaporizers anything you put in it.

 Unboxing:

the best blender  I bought mine from Costco for their special price at around $499

the best blender  – The Vitamix comes with a BPA (Bisphenol A) FREE  copolyester container that holds 2L of liquid.

– A Rubber, easy to remove lid and Tamper stick used to force ingredients into the fast spinning blades

– The motor base is a decent size and weight unit, with a 10 speed variable knob and a HIGH speed option which, trust me, is REALLY REALLY FAST!

– The Vitamix also includes a cook book and short DVD to introduce some recipes and how to use the unit effectively.

the best blender

– It comes with a whopping 7 Year warranty and is used by commercial restaurants and food joints around the world. Its built to last… Easily tougher than Ford Tough

the best blender   What can you do with it?

The Vitamix can replace a few appliances in your kitchen including:

– A blender (duhh..):
    – Smoothies
    – Almond Milk
    – Frozen yogurt/sorbet desserts
    – Salsa
    – Margaritas
    – Whole Ingredient Cheesy Fondue

– A food processor (Dropping ingredients onto the blades at low speed does a decent job I must say). Making butter out of whole fat cream, nut butters, hummus, etc…

– It can make steaming hot soup by adding some ingredients and turning it on HIGH for  5-10 minutes. Thats the kind of speed we’re talking about here.

Making Flour: I always advocate grinding your own flour for optimal nutrient quality and health. Vitamix makes a “Dry” ingredient container thats perfect for grinding hard grains like brown rice. You can get away with the wet blades that it comes with BUT apparently you will not get the flour as fine.

Check out this video where I use the Vitamix for my Post Workout Shake:

Conclusion:

If you can afford the best blender (yes rather expensive) then hands down this is the one to get just because of it durability, warranty, and ability to do things that other appliances can do as well. If you’re like me, you might go through 3, 4, or maybe 5 blenders before you realize that it might be best to go with something proven that works and lasts the test of time. Add all those broken blenders up and theres $300-500 dollars right there.

*I have just RECENTLY began using the Vitamix and I will UPDATE this page if anything goes wrong or if something doesnt work well and I feel the need to let you guys know.

UPDATE: I welded the old Ninja Blender gear and it seems to be working well… I’ll let my family members use that one until it breaks again ;)

2013 UPDATE: The weld job on the Ninja  lasted a few weeks, but my Vitamix is still annihilating the competition

August 2013 UPDATE: The bearings on the vitamix finally broke so they sent me a brand new container and bearing assembly in about 2 weeks for free (Warranty). No problemo!
